By accessing or using Lyfsy (the "Service"), whether through our website, web application, mobile application, APIs, or any associated features, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"), our Privacy Policy, and any other policies incorporated by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and Lyfsy ("we", "us", "our", "the Company"). If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
You must be at least 16 years of age to use Lyfsy. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.
To access most features of Lyfsy, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and creating a secure password. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep your account information up to date. You may not impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity.
- Maintain the security of your account credentials and not share your password with any third party.
- Immediately notify us at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
- Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account, whether or not you authorised them.
- Not create more than one free account per person or use automated means to create accounts, circumvent plan limits, or abuse promotional offers.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, contain false information, or are used in a fraudulent or abusive manner.
Free Plan
Lyfsy offers a free plan with limited features, available indefinitely with no credit card required. Features available on the free plan are subject to change with reasonable notice.
Paid Plans (Pro & Elite)
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorise us and our payment processor to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. You are responsible for all applicable taxes, duties, levies, or governmental charges associated with your subscription unless stated otherwise.
- Monthly billing: Charged on the same day each month. Price as displayed at time of subscription.
- Annual billing: Charged annually, approximately 30% less than the equivalent monthly rate. Non-refundable after 14 days.
- Price changes: We will provide at least 30 days' notice before changing subscription prices. Changes take effect on your next billing cycle.
Cancellation & Refunds
You may cancel your paid subscription at any time from your Account Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access to paid features until then. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, except:
- Where required by applicable law (including EU consumer protection regulations).
- Within 14 days of your initial subscription for annual plans (cooling-off period).
- If the Service has been unavailable for more than 48 consecutive hours during a paid billing period.
You agree to use Lyfsy only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. You must not:
- Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
- Use the Service to transmit, distribute, or store illegal content including material that is harmful, abusive, defamatory, or infringes on the intellectual property of others.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any portion of the Service, other user accounts, or our systems and networks.
- Use automated scripts, bots, scrapers, or other tools to access, collect, or interact with the Service in a manner that exceeds normal human usage.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, copy, frame, mirror, benchmark, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, underlying ideas, algorithms, or structure of Lyfsy except where such restriction is prohibited by law.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or the data contained therein.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our prior written consent.
- Use the Service to send unsolicited communications (spam) or to harass, harm, or threaten other individuals.
- Upload malware, malicious code, viruses, or any material intended to damage, interrupt, surveil, or gain unauthorized access to systems, data, or users.
- Use Lyfsy to build, train, or improve a competing product or service, or to systematically extract data, prompts, outputs, or interface elements for commercial reuse.
Violation of this policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund, and may be reported to relevant authorities where appropriate.
All rights, title, and interest in and to the Lyfsy Service — including its software, design, user interface, features, code, branding, logos, and documentation — are and remain the exclusive property of Lyfsy and its licensors.
These Terms do not grant you any rights to use our trademarks, trade names, logos, or other brand elements, except as expressly permitted in writing.
Licence to use
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for your internal personal or lawful business purposes, strictly in accordance with these Terms. This licence does not include the right to copy, modify, or create derivative works based on the Service.
Feedback
If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas about Lyfsy, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, incorporate, and implement such feedback in our products without any obligation to you.
You retain full ownership of all content you create, input, or upload to Lyfsy, including tasks, goals, journal entries, habits, financial data, and any other user-generated content ("Your Content").
By using Lyfsy, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt, transmit, and display Your Content solely as necessary to operate, secure, improve, and provide the Service to you. We do not claim ownership of Your Content, and we will never use it for advertising or sell it to third parties.
- You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of Your Content.
- You can export all Your Content at any time from Account Settings → Export Data.
- Upon account deletion, Your Content will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
Lyfsy includes AI-powered features including, but not limited to, the AI Life Coach, task auto-generation, and personalised recommendations. By using these features, you acknowledge and agree that:
- AI-generated content, suggestions, and advice are provided for informational and motivational purposes only. They do not constitute professional advice (medical, financial, legal, or otherwise).
- AI outputs may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your specific circumstances. You should exercise your own judgement when acting on AI suggestions.
- You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated tasks, plans, or recommendations before acting on them.
- Your interactions with AI features may be processed to deliver, maintain, secure, and personalize your Lyfsy experience, subject to our Privacy Policy.
- AI outputs are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
- We reserve the right to modify, limit, or discontinue AI features at any time with reasonable notice.
Lyfsy may integrate with third-party services such as Google Calendar, Apple Health, Stripe, and others. When you connect a third-party service:
- You are subject to the third party's own terms of service and privacy policies, in addition to ours.
- We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.
- You can disconnect any integration at any time from your Account Settings.
- We do not endorse or warrant any third-party service, and any issues with connected services should be directed to those providers.
Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience only and do not imply our endorsement of their content or practices.
We strive to provide a reliable, high-quality service and target 99.5% uptime. However, Lyfsy is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, timely, or error-free access to the Service.
The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:
- Scheduled maintenance (we aim to conduct maintenance during off-peak hours with advance notice).
- Emergency fixes, security patches, or infrastructure updates.
- Circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including internet outages, natural disasters, or third-party service failures.
We will make reasonable efforts to communicate planned downtime in advance via email and in-app notifications. Service interruptions do not automatically entitle users to refunds, except as described in the Subscription & Billing section.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lyfsy and its directors, employees, agents, partners, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data, profits, revenue, business opportunities, or goodwill.
- Failure to achieve personal, professional, health, or financial goals.
- Reliance on AI-generated advice or recommendations.
- Unauthorised access to or alteration of your data as a result of third-party actions.
- Service interruptions, bugs, or technical failures.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees paid by you to Lyfsy in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £100 GBP. The limitations in these Terms apply even if any limited remedy fails of its essential purpose.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Lyfsy and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use or misuse of the Service.
- Your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.
- Your Content or any content you transmit through the Service.
- Your infringement of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights.
Termination by you
You may terminate your account at any time by navigating to Account Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. Termination will result in permanent deletion of your account and all associated data within 30 days.
Termination by us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Lyfsy, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have:
- Violated these Terms of Service or our Acceptable Use Policy.
- Engaged in fraudulent, illegal, or abusive behaviour.
- Failed to pay applicable fees after reasonable notice.
- Posed a security risk to the platform or other users.
Effect of termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Service immediately ceases. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law — shall survive.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Lyfsy is legally established, without regard to conflict of law principles, unless applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise.
Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting us at [email protected]. We commit to responding within 10 business days.
If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in the jurisdiction in which Lyfsy is legally established, except where consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.
If you are an EU consumer, you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/odr.
We may modify these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
- Notify you by email at least 14 days before changes take effect.
- Display a clear notice within the Lyfsy application.
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Service and may request account deletion before the new terms take effect.
